Description
I am trying to find ways of combining my love of realistic portraiture with my decorative Aboriginal work. This is my first attempt. I am also only just embarking on the journey of learning to paint properly.
I am pretty happy with it as it is my first attempt. There is a lot of room for improvement but I feel happy I can make progress. What I have come to realise is: 1- that painting is a lot harder than drawing 2- acrylic extender is a miracle worker 3- the old saying " a shoddy workman blames his tools" isn't strictly true; quality paintbrushes make all the difference.
I used a random photo reference from the internet for the face. The rest is imagination.
Media: acrylic on paper.
